Saturn Repair: how to fix 92 saturn sl high idle speed, saturn sl1, saturn sl

My 92 saturn sl1 will sometimes idle at 1500 to 2000 rpms.  If I
switch off the engine and restart it the idle then drops back to
700 rpms or so.  This happens after the car gets warm and after
I drive a bit.

Hi is the check engine light on or has it ever been if so can u get the codes out?

the SES was on.  The dealer said it was the EGR.  I replaced it.  The SES lite is not on and the idle
is still high.

Hi it sounds like it may be a sticky iac motor (idle air control)u will need a scanner  to check it.it may be worth taking it out and cleanimg it. it will be on the throttle body it will be the only sensor with a square 4 prong plug just unscrew it and clean it with throttle body cleaner.BUT DONT MOVE THE PINTLE IN THE END IT WILL STRIP THE THREADS ON THE INSIDE>.. good luck try this before u take it to a shop also maybe pick up a new gasket for it the old one may be brittle
