Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S 127cc engine model 80232-1540-01, power sprayer, sea foam

Question
Engine is on a power sprayer. It has sat unused for several months... ran fine last time. Now it won't start unless I pour a little gas into the intake manifold. I have to coax it along but once started & warmed up it runs OK. If it is shut down for over a 1/2 hour I have to go through the procedure all over again. Any suggestions or ideas will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Dirty carburetor.  You can try running some Sea Foam, available at most autoparts stores, to see if it will clean out the carb.

Put in a cap or two of Sea Foam and run a full take of gas through the engine.

You other option is to remove, dis-assemble, and clean the carburetor with compressed air from an air compressor.

Let me know if the Sea Foam works.
