Question
the tiller will run as long as i put gas in the carb. when it gone it quits. what can i check to see why it is not getting gas.

Make sure you have fresh fuel in the tank.  by fresh fuel i mean fresh from the pump, not fresh from you can that has been in the garage since last winter.

You did not give me the engine model, type, and code, so I dont know what type of carb it is.  If it has a diaphragm, replace the diaphragm.  If it has a bowl remove it and clean the tube in the center of the carb.

I know this is vague but you simply are not getting fuel to the carb from the tank.
