i am looking for a zone cable for an old murray walk behind. the #S are  modle- km 4008  year made-1490   other numbers-22?51x12a
local dealers are telling me these are not the numbers, BUT TIS IS WHATS ON THE TAG.

The murray model number is the 22?51x12  Look on the old cable closely and you may even see a part number stamped on the cable itself....How cool is that....I cant guarentee it, but most times the part number is stamped on the cable itself.

I dont know what part of the country you are in, but if you do some searching on your puter, go to Briggs and Stratton Power Products group, they will be able to put you in touch with the Central distributor in your are that will have Murray parts and look up materials for the older models.  (You could just ask your dealer where they buy their Briggs and Stratton Parts from too-Briggs owns Murray)

I suggest you also get the Mode Type and Code of the engine before calling them as this will help them pinpoint the year of manufacture and the Model number.  (they will cross reference the engine type number)
