Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsmen generator, craftsman model, hp motor

 I have a craftsmen generator that the 8 hp motor has blown I was wondering if a honda motor would bolt up correctly to the generator segment

You will probably find it difficult to switch engines as most generators have a tapered crankshaft...most other power equipment has a straight crankshaft.

If you send me the Craftsman model number I can look up the crankshaft.  The model number is located on a sticker, about the size of a businees card, and the format will be something like xxx.xxxxxx or xxx-xxxxxxx.
