Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snow thrower oil leak, breather element, globaltek

Question
I have a Sears snow thrower model 536.918000, and it tends to leak oil near the breather element.  I just cleaned the carb.  When I started it back up, it will idle for a minute and then shut down by itself.  As it's running I see the oil leak from a lower corner of the breather element.  Do I just need a new breather element?  Could it be something else?

Answer
You could replace the breather, but i think what is happening is the moisture inside the breather is freezing and not allowing the breather to breath.  Check and see if the tube is plugged.

If you remove the breather and bring it into a warm environment for several hours and it dries out i think you will see this problem go away.

Let me know..

Hope this helps..
