Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): electric clutch, electric clutch, resistance increases

Question
When cold, the electric clutch engages immediately, but when the engine is hot and I turn the clutch off, it does not engage back to on when the button is pulled up. Do you know what might be causing this?

Answer
Dis-connect and clean the battery terminal posts and cable ends with wirebrush.  You want to make sure the clutch receives as much power as possible when you engage the blades.

This it not too uncommon as wires age over times.  With age the resistance increases and heat just compounds the resistance.  With more resistance more power is needed for the clutch.  Cleaning the cable ends will ensure the clutch is getting sufficient power.
