Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Husqvarna hydrostatic trouble, hydrostatic transmission, gear assembly

Question
I have a Husqvarna with an automatic hydrostatic transmission.  It is 3 years old.  Right now it is in the yard and won't move.  When you push the forward or reverse pedal it makes an awful grinding noise and will not move.  When you put it in the freewheel position, you can not push it. It will start fine, the blades will engage fine -nothing else seems to be wrong with except that it will not move.  Do you have any ideas?

Answer
Without being able to look at it I can only guess that the motor inside the transaxle is bad or has lost it's bearings.  This would account for not being able to push it.  It could also be in the miter or bull gear assembly.  I think the transaxle will need to come apart to determine the problem and if it's worth fixing.  Thanks, PK.
