Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ryobi SS30 Trimmer pull rope failure, ryobi ss30, drive shaft

Question
My Ryobi SS30 trimmer lost the end to the pull rope while running, and it's all inside the spool.  I've removed all the screws I could find from the housing, but can't seperate it further.  There is a flywheel on the front of the drive shaft from the engine that engages into the trimmer shaft, and I think it has to be removed but I'm not sure how to do so.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Answer
I assume you're referring to the clutch?  You have to lock the piston down to remove the clutch.  This is done by sticking something in the cylinder through the spark plug hole and then jamming the piston against it.  I use a special tool made just for this.  You can use a 1/4" ratchet extension if you are very, very careful.  Then you unscrew the clutch, it should have arrows on it showing which way it goes.  Let me know if you have any trouble.  Thanks, PK.
