Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Riding Lawn Mower Want Start, riding lawn mower, hp kohler

Question
I have a Husqavarna 15 hp Kohler OHV riding tractor . The tractor started fine the other day just ran alittle long with the choke on til it would get warm enough to take the throttle . I tried to start it yesterday and nothing . I can spray starting fluid in the carb and it will run off of it then die . I checked the fuel pump to the carb it is pumping . It will not even act like it wants to hit a lick but is getting fire and gas ? I also noticed the vac line going from the carb bowl on top of the carb going to the box on front of the motor with the OHV stamped on it was dry rotted and cracked and broke in serval places , Could that be a problem ? Thanks for any help Dustin

Answer
You either have some junk in the carb, and it needs to be disassembled and cleaned.  Or else there is a fuel shutoff solenoid on the carb that is not working, or is not getting electric current
to it.
The cracked breather tube should be replaced, as dirt will be ingested into the engine.

For more specifics, find the engine's model and spec numbers so
I can look at the engine's ipl and give you a better idea what to do next.
