Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda blade Brake Clutch Assembly, clutch assembly, honda engine

Question
QUESTION: I purchased a GVC 160a Honda Engine which came with blade brake clutch assembly.  I'm installing this engine on a 911 series Ariens Chassis (21 inch)  and would like to incorporate the blade brake assembly.  However I don't have the necessary cable and from looking at pictures of the brake assembly there is a spring that activates the brake when the handle is released and I don't have that either.  I think I found the cable on line.  It's either an OEM #: 54530-VE0-003 or an OEM #: 54530-VA3-J03 depending on the length needed.  But I have not been able to identify the return spring used in this assembly.  I'm also not sure which 21" Honda blade I should use with this clutch assembly.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Tom

ANSWER: Hello Tom:

>>The Spring for the Roto-Stop Assembly is Honda Part #75113-960-000 and the Blade should be a Honda Part #72511-VA2-690.

QUESTION: Hello again.

After getting your very good and timely information and related part numbers I took another look at the diagram/drawing I have of the Honda Blade Brake Clutch assembly and see that I missed a part that will be essential.  There is a bracket that the previously discussed cable and spring hook to that apparently bolts to the chassis somehow with two bolts  My question is can you help me identify this the part number for this bracket and a possible online source?  Also since I'm installing this on an Ariens chassis it would be helpful to find out exactly how this bracket fastens underneath the mower deck.  Thanks Again.

ANSWER: Hello Again Tom:

>>Send me the Airens Chassis Model Numbers, Please. This will make it Easier for me to Identify where you should be Attaching the Bracket.
>>I Failed to Mention that the Proper Model Number of this Engine is a GCV160A and Not a GVC160A.
>>The Engine I was Using for a Reference has been Repaired and is No Longer in the Shop and I Do Not have a Complete Model Number Now to Look Up this Engine Breakdown like I did when I Answered the First Part of this Question Thread.
>>Send me the Other Part of the Engine Model Number, Please. There should be Letters and/or Numbers Similar to the Following Example.  . Example: GCV160A N5AF, GCV160A R3A, GCV160A RTL1 and Ect.
>>Thanks.

QUESTION: Hello again John

As per your request following is the model number for the Ariens chassis I'm installling the Honda engine on.  The
model number  is 911077 followed by serial number 004073.  One thing I had to do to this chassis was drill out the
holes on the chassis so the engine base would set flush against the deck base.  I had to do that to get the drive
pulley on the engine to line up with the large drive wheel and idler pulley on the chassis

Numbers stamped on the side of the GCV160A Honda engine are as follows:  GJAEA  sn1154875 and this serial
number is followed by another set of stamped letters/number made up of small dots reading MY7*.  Not sure what the MY7* means but it's definitely a different type of stamped number.

I've not been able to positively identify the shaft type (N1 - N5; N-7) for this engine.  My shaft as near as I can tell measures approximately 3 1/4" from the engine mount face and I think it is probably the N-1 or N-3 type. The blade bolt head is 9/16 standard which may indicate it is the N-1.

I'm using pages 6 & 7 of the following website which has pretty good pictures of the 5 shaft types and the Honda

blade brake clutch assembly that came on my engine.

Hope this helps in identifying the bracket part number and how it is attached to the mower.  My guess is the bracket
bolts to one of the engine mounting bolts and the second bolt fastens it to the brake itself, but hope you can tell me for sure and give me some idea of where I might get this bracket.

Hi Tom:

>>I am Not Sure but I Think you are Talking about the "Return Spring Hook" (#75140-VL0-B00).
