Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): LT150 Dies in low gear, turtle speed, spec numbers

Question
I have an LT-150 with the 15hp Koehler engine.  I bought it used and it works great.  I just started it for the first time in two months and it fired right up and ran.  The mower has never ran in low/turtle speed.  When the mower is good and warm I drop it in to low speed and it dies.  I put it back in high speed and it starts back up.  I am fairly familiar with the basic operation of a small engine but when I pulled the hood I could not see a carburetor to check.  I am going to get the maintenance kit next month and do an annual tune up on it.  Is there anything I can look for to prevent this low speed problem?  Thanks in advance for the help.

Answer
Hello Justin:

Sorry for the Delay. My Electric is Out and the Darn Generator Coil went Bad. lol  Its been a Fun Past 2 Days. Now, If this is an OLDER MODEL Engine, Check the Compression. If the Compression is Below 90psi, then that can be the Cause. It can Also be a Carburetor Problem. The Carburetor May Require a Good Soaking and Cleaning. Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. Thanks.
