Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda Lawn Mower, throttle shaft, honda lawn

Question
I am having the same problem another person asked you about. My Honda starts fine but dies when I engage the blade unless I first Move the governor lever to get the idle speed up. When I move the idle control lever it does not speed up.  Did you find the answer to the other person's same problem?  If so what is it?  Thanks Jim.

Answer
Hello Jerry:

Send me the Model and Type Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. If the Throttle Control is Not Regulating the Engine Speed when you Move the Throttle Lever, then Check the Governor Control Spring and Make Sure it has Not Broken or Jumped Off the Linkage. What Follows is a General Description on How the Throttle System Works. Check All the Linkage and Ensure it is All Connected and Working when you Operate the Throttle Cable. **The Throttle Cable Attaches to the Throttle Control Bracket. The Cable Moves a Slide that Moves a Pivot. The Pivot has the Spring  Attached to it and to the Governor Arm. The Solid Link Connects to the Governor Arm and goes to the Throttle Shaft on the Carburetor.  When the Throttle Cable is Moved it Moves the Pivot and the Pivot Pulls the Spring. The Spring Pulls the Governor Arm and the Governor Arm Moves the Throttle Shaft. Usually the Spring is in the Lower Hole in the Governor Arm and the Solid Link is in the Top Hole of the Governor Arm.** Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
