Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Making my mower faster, briggs and stratton, transaxle

Question
I was wanting to make my mower faster for some fun back yard racing. I heard
that I could change the pulley on the transmission and engine. Put a bigger
pulley on the engine and a smaller one on the engine. Is there a way to swap
the pulley from the transmission and put it on the engine? Also how do I go
about removing the pulleys? This is a old Murray with a 11hp Briggs and
Stratton engine. The deck is rusted through and is off so I planned on having
some fun with it instead of throwing it away. Any help with removing the
pulleys and such would be grateful. If you want you can answer on here or shoot me an e-mail at blueangelsace@bellsouth.net Thanks,

Answer
Hello Arron:

To Increase Ground Speed; Leave the Transaxle Pulley Alone and Get a Larger Engine Pulley First. Due to Roll Over Issues, you May Not Want to Decrease the Size of the Transaxle Pulley. Heat and a Puller are Usually Required to Remove the Transaxle Pulley. Usually the Engine Pulley will Slide Off with a Small Amount of Heat if Required. Some PB Rust Cataylyst is also Require to Help Lubricate the Mating Surfaces of the Shaft and Pulley. You May have to have a Machine Shop Order the Pulley. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
