Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): bolens string trimmer, bolens, string trimmer

Question
My bolens vrand string trimmer the pull cord pulled all the way out. I opened it up to rewind the starter. Now the spring wont stay attached to the pulley to rewind any help or tricks would be great.

Kevin you are working with junk!  I wish I could reengineer this product for you but then it wouldn't be the cheapest trimmer you can buy.  Now you know why my shop won't work on this product.  We can't gaurantee a repair 5 minutes.  A new spring will help.
