Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): kholer twin, jumper wires, cylender

Question
i have a 17 horse opposed twin kholer engine in a pulling tractor at times on the track it seems as though one cylender cuts out and then right towards the end it kicks back in and runs smooth i just changed points and condenser and gapped at 22 thousands when engine is runnig and i pull one plug wire it will stall when i swap wires around on the coil and pull the same plug wire engine stays runnig i tried a different old coil i had and it does the same thing can both coils be bad or should i look into something else?both coils seem to start getting warm within 60 seconds but not hot . one wire comes from the key switch to coil + is brand new all the points wires go to - on coil  can a guy hook up single coils in series just bridge over from one coil to the next with jumper wires ? thanks for any help you can point me in

Answer
Hello Shawn:

The Coil can be the Cause of this Problem. The Valves or a Lifter can Also be the Cause. Try a NEW Coil First, then the Valves and Lifters. A Valve that has a Burnt Seat will Act as you Described. A Lifter that is Sticking will Cause this Problem Also. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
