Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Troy-Bilt Snowblower Will not roll, troy bilt snowblower, snow blower

Question
QUESTION: Item# 96721 Model# 31AE6GQ3711
My snowblower, which is 2 years old, will not roll.  I took the plate off the rear of the unit, and nothing looks rusted, and there is nothing stuck in the gears that I can see.

This unit is very heavy, and doesn't much like moving against it's will.  I will truly appreciate any advice you can offer!

Thank you for your time.
ANSWER: Hello Rick:

Check the Drive Disc. Is it Disengaging from the Drive Plate? If the Disc and The Plate are Touching, the Snow Blower Will Not Roll. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

QUESTION: John,
I have checked the drive disc, and it is clear of the drive plate.

A little more background, there were a couple times this winter where the wheels were "frozen up", but in those instances, I could shift the snowblower into a higher gear (4 or 5), and raise the wheels off the ground, and they'd free up.  I suspected that it was water/ice buildup.  We had a lot of snow, and there was a lot water all over when I finished up.

Again, I appreciate your time!

Rick

Answer
Hello Again Rick:

From the Description you Just Gave me, I Suggest you Check the Shaft Keys that Align the Gears. One of these May have Partially Sheared or Completely Sheared and the Teeth Are Not Lining Up as Designed. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
