Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 5hp Briggs tiller, table spoons, gas tank

Question
My tiller is a 85 model and has front tines. I took the carb off clean it good with carb cleaner, replace diaphram, and the   air filter, sparkplug and check the flters that are suspended from the carburetor into the gas tank. I don't know what to do.It will not start.

Answer
 Hello Wayne:

Remove the Air Filter and Pour a Small Amount of Gas (2 table spoons) Into the Carburetor Throat and Try to Start the Engine. What Happens? Does it Start and Quit? If No, then Check the Compression. Check the Flywheel Key. The Flywheel has to be Removed to Check this Key. On the Blower Housing above the Bolt that is Above the Spark Plug; there should be Model Type and Code Numbers. Send me these Numbers Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
