Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawnchief tractor engine, pulley puller, pullys


Question
how would you be able to remove anengine from a tractor I took the 4 screws out that hold it on but the two pullys that the belts go on are blocking it how would I be able tore move them there is a bolt Iremoved it but there is a pin holding iton there how would i be able to remove it? the engine is shot its my neighbors i got the engineto replace it I just need the pin removed then i could replace it please help!

The pulley you are working with is the stack pulley.  If you removed the large bolt holding the stack pulley to the crankshaft then the pulley should just pull/slide off.  Of course it is stuck on due to rust and debris over years of use.  You can try using a pulley puller, heating, or soaking with pentrating fluid.

Those pulleys are soft and easy to bend or collapse if you use a puller, so be careful.
