Thanks

-----Question-----
Hey, You are going to really like me now, as I have more questions for you !!  I had some troubles getting the motor running, and am still.  The major stumbling block I am encountering is with the motor running it keeps shearing the shear key.  So far I sheared three.  At first I thought it was because I had the motor running too fast.  Then it sheared two more without running it too fast, the total includes one made of steel.  Yes they were the correct ones for the engine, and they seemed to fit in there pretty nice.  ?  Any suggestions on this particular situation ?  Any help will be appreciated, and thank you in advance for an answer to this question, and thanks again for the answer to the last question .... Hope you are having a good day today..... !!

-----Question-----
Hi, You've probably answered this question a million times, but here it is again.  I have a Tecumseh 5 Hp motor on a snow blower.  I took the carb off, and am now putting it back together.  I am wondering what the initial setting for both of the needle valves are, and what they are for specifically.  One goes in through the bowl, and the other goes in the side of the carb.  1 1/2 turns for both ?  Plus once you get the motor running how do you fiddle with both to make the motor run at it's best ?  Thanks in advance !!  e-mail answer to me if you can....

 Hello Steve:

You are Correct. I have a File I Open and Copy and Paste Now. lol :-) Here are the Directions: **The High Air Mixture Screw is In the Carburetor Bowl in the Center of the Nut or Some Carburetors have Both the Low and High Side by Side on the Top Side of the Carburetor. The Screw Closest to the Engine Is Usually the High Air Mixture Screw on this Type Carburetor. The Low Air Mixture is the One at Top on the Side and Goes Into the Carburetor.   Some have the Idle Air Mixture Screw Going Vertically Into the Top of the Carburetor. The Idle Screw is the One that Moves the Throttle Plate. The Following is the Directions for Setting these Screws. **If the Carburetor was Soaked Overnight in Carburetor Cleaning Solution and the Passages Blown Out with Compressed Air and a New Kit Installed,  then we can Set the Air Mixture Screws. Turn Both Air Mixture Screws In Until Seated. **DO NOT JAM  SNUG ONLY** Turn Both Screws Out 1 1/2 Turns. Set the Throttle to Full Open and Start the Engine. Override the Throttle by Pushing the Governor Arm by Hand and Turn the High Air Mixture Screw(bottom of the bowl) In/Out Until the Engine is Revving Properly. Now Slow Engine to Idle. Set the Low Air Mixture Screw so there is No Hesitation when Throttling from Idle to Full Throttle. Now Set the Idle if Required.** Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Hello Again Steve:

The Flywheel should be Torqued to 150 Foot Pounds? If the Flywheel Isn't Torqued Properly it will Shear Every Key Installed. For Tecumseh; Start at 150 Foot Pounds Torque and Increase 10 Foot Pounds Until the Shearing Stops. Usually 150 Foot Pounds is Sufficient. The Key is Used for Timing the Firing of the Pulg, Not to Hold the Flywheel. The Taper of the Crankshaft and Flywheel Seat and Proper Torque Hold the Flywheel in Place. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
