Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): homlite bp250 backpack blower, exhaust port, homelite parts

Question
my blower is running sluggish and seems to get bogged down after periods of use.  Also, it will only run if I leave the choke on.  Even then, when I am not pulling the trigger/throttle it shuts off.

I'd like to clean the carb (since I think that is the problem), but I don't even know how to identify the carb.

Answer
 Hello Reid:

Go to this Addy http://www.homelite.com/parts/index.htm and Select Go to Homelite Parts Store. Then Enter the Model Numbers BP250 and Click Search. Then Select the your Model from the Search Results and Double Click on it. This will Open a New Window for you to View a Breakdown/IPL of this Blower. Replace the Fuel Filter (#49422)in the Tank. Remove the Muffler and Check for the Exhaust Port being Blocked by Carbon. Check the Muffler and Spark Arrestor Screen for Blockage Also.  If these are Clear, then the Carburetor May be the Problem. What is the Compression when this Happens? It can be the Rings are Worn and Not Expanding with the Cylinder causing Power Loss. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
