Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs and Stratton 8hp model #195707, briggs and stratton, throttle control

We recently replaced with same engine and need info on how to reset the govenor and throttle control.Engine races, will not throttle down properly.

 Hello Donna:

 Loosen the Governor Arm from the Shaft. Turn the Governor Shaft Towards the Spark Plug. Use the Governor Arm and Hold the Carburetor to Full Throttle and Tighten the Governor to the Shaft. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Addy http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Click the B. Then Select Briggs and Stratton. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Select the File # 19. Then Select the Folder # 195700. This will Download a breakdown/IPL for you to View Online. Hope this helps. I am here if you require more Assistance.
