Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): removing the governor completel, hp engine, power sport

Question
i was looking at a diagram of my teumseh OHH 50 power sport engine and it said that the governor linkage was hooked up some how in engine (besides just being an external governor) http://www.small-engines.com/govtheory.html. i was wondering if i extract the linkagewhat effect wil it have on the engine? second when i was running my engine at full throttle it wouldrun fine for about 30 seconds then i would lose most of the power and there would be an extreme amount of exhaust coming out of the exhaust pipe? and oil is coming ot of the exhaust pipe?
thanks for th previous reply,
Jake

 Hello Jake:

By Hooking Up the Throttle Direct you have Basically Done Away with the Governor. From your Description you are Running Direct and the Governor will Have No Effect on the Top RPM's of the Engine. You can Over Rev the Engine as it is Set Up Now. Maximum RPM's is 3800 to 4000 RPM's. Synthetic Oil will help the Engine Last Longer, but the Set up you are Using will Decrease the Life of the Engine No Matter what Oil you Use. Try Changing the Gear Ratio to Get more Speed. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Jake:

From your Description it Sounds like the Engine was Over Revving and the Rings Lost Seat and Allowed Oil to Slip by and Enter the Cylinder. This is a Common Problem when the Engine Over Revs. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Addy http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ ans Click on the T. Then Select Tecumseh. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Enter the Model Numbers HH50 and Click Go. Then Select your Model and Download the File. the Internal Governor is Diagram # 82. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
