Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda MowerModel GXV140-135cm3, honda engines, fuel inlet

Question
Dear John,
The bottom oil seal on the crankshaft was leaking so I took the engine from the mower base to replace it.At the same time I decided to renew the crankcase gasket. When I took the crancase apart there is a cog on the bottom of the driveshaft which drives a nylon cog which I assume is driving the camshaft? there are two rods protruding down which I assuume are the push rods to open and shut the fuel inlet and exhaust valves, but now I dont know how to time it. There is a dot on the nylon cog which I thought must line up with a mark on the driveshaft cog but I cant find a mark,Can you advise me how to line these two cogs up to have the engine timed properly please.
Kind Regards
Kevin Ps there are other numbers on the engine as follows ZG9HM-6 and GJAB-6693422 and MAC*

Answer
 Hello Kevin:

Put the Engine at TDC and Check the Teeth on Both Sides of the Cranksgaft Gear. There Should be a Dimple Mark of a Long Scribe Mark on the Tooth that Lines up with the Cam Gear. You can try this Addy http://www.honda-engines-eu.com/en/service/spareparts/heepartscatalogue/index.js... for a Breakdown of the Engine. You will Need to Locate the Type Letters Off of the Engine. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require More Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
