Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Engine Quits, soleniod, coil ignition

Question
I have a lawn tractor with a 10HP B$S engine.  Starts fine, dies after 4-5 minutes.  Wait 10 minutes and it will start again.  Changed fuel filter, checked air filter and plug.  Feels like it dies for lack of fuel, but there seems to be fuel in the carb bowl.  Electrical?

Answer
 Hello Dick:

Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank Properly. Make Sure the Gas is Free Flowing to the Carburator Inlet.  Is there a Soleniod in the Bowl of the Carburator. If Yes, then Remove the Soleniod and Replace it with a Short Bolt the Same Diameter and Threads as the Soleniod. Does this Cure the Problem? If Yes, then the Soleniod is Bad. Check for Fire at the Plug when the Engine Quits, If No Fire, then the Coil/Ignition Module is Bad. If there is Fire at the Plug, then the Carburator needs to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown of the Engine and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
