Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ryobi Weedeater, centrifugal clutch, ray burton

Question
I am able to get the outer part of the centrifugal clutch off.  Don't know how to get the inner part (the part with the weights) off.  How do I lock the flywheel and keep it from turning?  Is the clutch right-hand threaded or left-hand threaded?

Thanks,

Ray Burton

Answer
 Hello Ray:

It has come to My Attention that I have been Repairing Small ENgines in the US and have Changed haow I answer the Question About the Clutch. The Outer Part is the Clutch Bell or Sprocket. The Inner is the Clutch. Remove the Spark Plug. Turn the Engine with the Pull Handle and Looking at the Clutch; Note the Direction the Clutch Rotates. The Clutch Loosens the Same Direction the Engine Turns. To Lock the Flywheel. Go to Your Local Parts Store and Purchase a Bolt (grade 8 or more Grades, 5,6, and 7 May Damage the Threads by Stripping Out During the Clutch Removal). Take the Spark Plug and Get One tha is 3 Tomes as Long as the Plug Threads. Use this Bolt in the Spark Plug Hole to Hold the Piston and Crankshaft for Removal of the Clutch from the Crankshaft. **DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THIS BOLT** 2fts is enough. Use Air Impact to Remove the Clutch. A Shop Maul and Punch May Be Used If the Clutch Isnt too Tight. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck
