Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Fuel filter replacement, fuel filter replacement, briggs stratton

Question
I have a Murrary lawn tractor with a Briggs & Stratton 17hp engine.  I am trying to change the fuel filter, but cannot get the air out of the line.  How do I put in the new filter and bleed the line so that gas will go through to the engine?

Answer
 Hello Ross:

You should be  able to remove the Fuel Line from the Carburator and hold it Lower than the Tank. Once the Gas begins to Run Out of the Line, Connect it back to the Carburator. Other than that, you can Use Compressed Air to Pressurize the Tank with 2 to 3 psi of Air and Force the Gas through the Line. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
