Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Simplicity snowblower will not start, plug hole, spark plug

Question
I have a simplicity 560 snowblower 1690775 MFG 84-87. I cannot get it to start. I put good gas in, I replaced the plug (I verified we are getting spark). When I prime it I see gas in the carb. I poured a few drops of gas in the spark plug hole and it fired right up...until the gas burned out.

Answer
Hi Frank,

The carb most likely has dirt, debris or gummed fuel inside.  You will need to remove the carb, disassemble it, clean all the small internal openings and blow it out with compressed air.   Probe each and every hole with a small wire.   Adding a carb rebuild kit wouldn't hurt either.

Let me know how you make out.
