Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Connecting emergency generator to home panel, licenced electrician, coleman generator

Question
What are proper connections for powering a home breaker panel (240 volt divided 120 volt branches each side to neutral) from a Coleman generator with a 240 volt, 4 terminal output socket marked "240 volt"; "240 volt"; "Neutral" and "Ground"?

Neutral and Ground are not connected. Generator frame has a lug to connect to a real ground pipe.

Answer
I'm not exactly sure how to connect the generator to a home panel.  The city codes in my area require a licenced electrician to connect the generator to household breaker boxes.

Most gensets powerful enough to power a household come with a special cable that connects between the incoming commericial power and the genset.  You simply plug the cable into the genset and then tie the cable directly to the commericial power wires in the breaker box...no wire to seperate breakers.  Some cables have an auto relay that connects/disconnects the genset from the commericial power.
How big of a generator do you have?  I'm not sure if it would power a house.
