Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): gas trimmer, gas trimmer, flywheel

Question
Won't start except after many tries.  Then runs good.  Has new plug, but spark very weak.  Pulled flywheel but no points.  Compression about 55.  Fresh fuel.

If the ignition is functioning correctly, it should be able to jump a 1/8" gap to ground.  Make sure the ignition module to flywheel gap is 0.010" and check for proper spark.  If it has weak spark still, the problem is with the ignition module and it will need to be replaced.  Hope this helps.
