Thanks for the info.
That's a fairly common problem with the Corsica.  The part that breaks is the rack gear (deep inside the column)  I'll attach a picture of it here, but to replace it, the column needs to come out of the car and then pretty much completely disassembled to get to the rack.  Both the upper and lower end need to come apart.

It may be cheaper to replace the entire column (as long as it needs to be removed).  We rebuild them as part of our business, but that's up to you.
