Subaru Repair: Transmission Nightmare, subaru impreza, control modules

Question
Can anyone help me please? I want to know how much trouble I'm in.

Yesterday my car was operating beautifully. It's a 1997 Subaru Impreza Sport Outback.

Tonight, my "check engine" light went on and the "AT light started to blink."

While driving home I noticed I do not have a 1st, 2nd, or third gear! Just works in "Drive."

Is my transmission blown?? No other symptoms.

So far I'm scared. But I'd rather know than not know.

ANY help would be appreciated!

Thanks!!

Answer
Chris,

You can start with checking your fluid level in the Transmission, from there it needs to be Diagnosed locally.

There is just no way I can know whats wrong without looking at it, or at least having the engine and transmission diagnostic trouble codes which are now stored in the engine and transmission control modules memory as a result of the Trans temp and check engine lights coming on.
