Subaru Repair: rear license plate lamp, subaru legacy, flex point

Question
Both of my rear license plate lamps have failed, I have tried replacing them without any luck, which fuse would control these and where would it be located?

2000 Subaru Legacy GX saloon/sedan

On a U.S. model the fuse for the rear license plate bulbs are the same as the parking lights. So if the parking lamps work and the License plate lights do not the fuse is ok.


I would check the wiring going from the body of the car to the trunk lid they can tend to break at the flex point in the loom.  Look for the black piece of rubber pull it out of either the car body or the trunk lid and inspect the wiring.
