Subaru Repair: too much oil, coolant levels, speed front

Question
I have a 1989 GL wagon (like a LOYAL) with a 1.8L, THROTTLE BODY fuel enjected, NON-turbo engine and an automatic transmission (3 speed), FRONT wheel drive only with 167,000 miles.  Lately I have been finding an INCREASE in my oil level.  I know it must come from somewhere but my transmission, differential, and coolant levels are all o.k.  When I had the oil changed I asked them to look and smell for anything out of the ordinary to help me with tracking the source down and all they said was "the oil looked a bit lighter and thinner".  The car's been working just fine.  Any ideas?
Thank you, rich.
REPAIR HISTORY:  Transmission rebuilt 12,000 miles ago and timing belt just changed (2nd time).

Answer
Hello Rich,

The only fluid that could transfer into the oil is coolant, and vise versa. My recommendation at this time, would be to drain and save the oil, and the coolant and have it looked at, or have someone do this for you. I hope this helps.
