Subaru Repair: Suspension, impreza outback sport, leaking struts

Question
I live in CT. I have a 1997 impreza outback sport 100K miles with leaking struts in the rear and mushy ones in the front.  I've been told the cost of struts are $250 each for the front and $350 each for the rear from 2 garages. with about 3 hours labor on the front and 4 hours rear.

The struts listed here are so much less. Am I missing something. I assume one is gas and the other is not.  Would either of these be a suitable replacement for the stock struts? Is the quality much less? Is the labor hours about right?

Answer
Hello Joseph,

I am not sure about the labor hours being right, but you have to consider the alignment has to be done after the front struts are replaced. I just called our parts dept, and here are the prices I got. RF $126.95, LF $104.95, Rears $116.62 each. These are struts only, no springs or mounts. You should be able to use your old ones. If you are interested in our prices call our parts dept. The number is 1-800-724-8872 and ask for parts, or visit www.vanbortelsubaru.com.  I hope this helps...
