Towing Issues: towing regulations in Philadelphia, philadelphia city, ppa

Question
Please help me find the towing regulations in Philadelphia.  At one time, I was told that the city could not tow away a car if its tags were up to date but now they are towing away legally parked cars that have up to date tags if they think it has been abandoned.  I would like to see if that is legal or not.  Is there a municipal code that lists the towing regulations of Philadelphia?

Answer
I really have no idea of the answer to this question as I can find laws for "general towing" of vehicles under Philadelphia City codes and then you have the issues where the "PPA" (yeah I watch the show also) does different things.

But as a general rule, in most locations if a vehicle is left in the same place over 72 hours then it can be considered an abandoned vehicle.

I did find this information about abandoned vehicles in Philadelphia which might help find answers for you.

And if you want to do more research you can go to www.municode.com and see if there is a section for Philadelphia on there and then start researching for information.

Hope this helps
