Towing Issues: Customer transports, tow truck driver, short stature

Question
What are the normal procedures and protocols once a tow truck driver makes decision to give customer a ride home or anywhere else in terms of passenger ingress and egress? Have 5ft.tall 80 year old woman who fell out of the truck while trying to climb down facing the cab. Could not reach the first step with her short stature and fell head first into the curb break for her driveway. Don't know if driver helped her get in or not yet because she has no memory of incident. High profile flat tow truck but only interested in customer tranport issues. New Mexico situation. Thanks

Answer
Contact your insurance agent for proper coverage and liability issues. They are there to help and explain the concern. Also incorporate a safety procedure for all driver's assisting passenger's in and out of the vehicle. Just remember in this litigious world the actions and responsibility if severe will be presented to a judge or jury and will have to be explained.
