Towing Issues: Posting private property for no parking, oregon state law, citylimits

Question
I live in oregon outside of citylimits in Linn county and have a business that I would like to post with no parking or you will be towed signs, but do not know how to do it legally. Could you please help me?

Answer
Most tow companies will be able to post the signs and such which meet the state requirements for tow aways...

Pick a company or two and call them and see what they have available or if they even do the tow aways...

But remember one thing, Oregon State law is changing regarding towing of vehicles from private property and it is looking like it will be a bit "harder for illegally parked vehicles to be legally removed" from private property without you the property owner being inconvenienced by the trespassers...

The Oregonian just did some articles on the new laws and I was reading them the other day and you might want to read up on the changes in state laws... I know that the links that I have on state laws are good, but they will only be accurate and correct for a short while longer due to the changes...

A basic sign law for Oregon is below...

Oregon
98.810 Unauthorized parking of vehicle at proscribed property prohibited. No person, without the permission of:

(1) The owner of a parking facility, shall leave or park any vehicle on the parking facility if there is a sign displayed in plain view at the parking facility prohibiting public parking thereon or restricting parking thereon.

(2) The owner of proscribed property, shall leave or park any vehicle on the proscribed property whether or not there is a sign prohibiting or restricting parking on the proscribed property. [1953 c.575 s.1; 1979 c.100 s.3; 1981 c.861 s.24; 1983 c.436 s.3]

You can check out the state laws regarding towing on the Internet and it should be all in the 98.1 section or so of the state code...
