Towing Issues: dodge factory installed plug for electric brake controler, brake controler, brake controller

Question
I have a 2008 1500 dodge 1/2 ton pickup. It has the factory toy package witch is dodge says has a blue plug connector provided, (for the elect. brake controller), under the dash near the steering column. Trouble is when I looked for it I didnt find it. I do see a orange plug. Any help would be appreciated. Also I am looking for a brake controller that would allow me to apply brakes to the trailer manually also. got any suggestions?

Answer
I'm not sure on the 2008's but all the plug in's I have done are blue in color. If you don't see anything near the steering column look high up in the driver's kick panel. The blue plug inserts into the relay/junction box that might have some other wires and or relays plugged into it. The 4 wire blue plug that came with the tow package will need hard wiring to your brake controller. There are many brake controllers that offer manual brake control. Valley and Drawtite both make great controllers I have used. Go to www.etrailer.com for more information.
