Towing Issues: Car towed parked at curb side City of Fremont California, city of fremont california, city of fremont

Question
On Sunday I visited my friends place and I parked the car on the curb side. When came out to leave the place I didn't find the car. There is no sign to the side of the curb saying "No Stopping Any Time" but there is sign at the end of the street. Its a dead end street. I have to go back to the yard where it is towed(Hayward) and they say that it's fire lane and there may be a sign at the entrance of the street. After looking at the street I saw a sign board and it is completely blokced by the tree and it's not visible at all.
I paid the $305 and got my car from the towing place. What are my options contest this? I am not aware of not parking as No stopping any time sign is not there with in the next and back of the curb where I parked my car. And this happened to another guest of my friend at the same time in the same street as he was not aware of the same.
Thanks in advance.

When you park on private property you can be towed just for being there. If you do not have permission, or do not have a clear understanding of the parking rules for a given property, then you just shouldn't park there.
