Towing Issues: Maybe illegal towing in Bethesda Md., undercover police officer, montgomery county maryland

Question
My car was towed from my health club in Bethesda, Montgomery county Maryland (I left it there for a day and a half on Thurs. eve. so I was pushing the envelope).  Signs on entering/exiting say "for members only" -- and I'm a member in good standing -- but not "vehicles/violaters will be towed after hours" etc. etc. Because it's August, the lot is pretty much half empty by the end of the week...About a month ago, I also left the car there overnight and nothing happened.  The signs haven't changed since then.

Was it legal to tow without such notice?  There's no notice on their web site or general info at the club.  Is there any where to find an actual ordinance in Montgomery County on this?? I found towing regs on the AMOUNT that can be charged but not on proper notice to the public...

Answer
Well I have to say that the signs you told me about in the question sound legal.  As to the actual "definitions" and all that, well I have to ask is the health club open 24 hours a day... Really if it is not then at 3 AM when they are closed would your vehicle be legal even though you are a member?  They are closed and therefore no members would be present...

And unfortunately vehicles have no way of saying things like "I am a member" or even " I am an undercover police officer, a US senator, a basketball or football superstar"   YES I HAVE TOWED EACH OF THEM, and I always get things about who they are. But the cars do not talk and they do not have signs which say who they are.

Now Montgomery County has lots of laws regarding towing vehicles from private parking  but I can not find the link for them again...

Sorry
