Towing Issues: Car towed and damaged, horizontal cracks, small claims court

Question
I parked my 95 ford probe overnight in Rockland, Maine. This car has an aftermarket body kit (Low to the ground) which makes it difficult to mount extreme inclines. I had scraped the paint a few times before, but never anything to crack it severely. The car was towed to a town about half an hour away because it was parked illegally, and when I reclaimed it, the car's front bumper had large horizontal cracks consistent with pushing the front bumper up and grass shoved into minor preexisting cracks from where the car was dropped off afterwards. The car is perfectly legal in height; it passes state inspection and everything, but obviously the company must have run the front bumper into the flatbed when they towed it.

Would I have any chance for repayment? ($300 for bumper plus painting) or in small claims court? Thanks!

Brian

Answer
Talk to the tow company about it and see what they say.. But do not hold your breath for them to do anything...

Reason I say that is lowered or altered vehicles always create problems and do have pre existing damages... That will be the reason that they use to deny the claim...

And small claims court is always an option, but remember you have to prove to the judge that they did the damage...

Good luck.
