Towing Issues: TOWED in apartment complex, parkville md, tow truck driver

Question
I recently moved into the apartment complex (less than 2 weeks ago).  At around 9PM on Tuesday, I backed into a parking spot I had used several times since my move in date.  Apparently, as I learned this morning, it was not a parking spot.  It was next to a series of pull in spots, but apparently, it had "hashes".   I called the towing company and plead with them.  You could barely see the paint from the hashes, and there was no yellow curb wrapping around it, like they usually mark for "no parking."  I told her, I had taken a picture for her to see, and her sole argument was that if the driver could see the hash marks at 2am, that they must be visible.  This happened in Parkville, MD, which is in Baltimore County.  the towing company was Pollards on Ensor Ave.  I understand towing companies are not in business to cut people breaks, but the paint was barely there.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Answer
Well remember one thing, the tow truck driver knows what spaces are legal and not, even if the paint is faded... And it sounds as if it is a "GREAT PARKING SPACE" which you found and then found out how expensive it is to use that space...

Side note here "back in parking" in some apartment complexes is also illegal. Check your lease for rules on parking !!!!!!  (trying to help here)

Now the tow company does not "maintain" the parking lot, that is the apartment complex responsibility so that is where you should go for solving this issue...  Talk to them or the property owner and see if they can get it repainted... That will solve the issue and cut into the tow company profits. (see even though I am a tow truck driver, I do take the side of the motorist at times)

But it is an expensive lesson to learn as to where to park in apartment complexes...
