Answer
Well, I am not sure what towing the vehicle could of really done to cause your vehicle to not go into gear... From the sounds of it though, it is transmission related such as a clutch slipping...

Or they might of towed it with it in neutral beyond the limits of the manufacturers recommendations and caused it to overheat and damage some internal gears...

Maybe they adjusted the clutch to work better, but there might be other issues there which are not noticeable..

Now since I do not know what kind of vehicle you have, or how it was towed, or even how far it was towed, I really can not provide much of an answer there, but I want you to go to

Check out the requirements for your vehicle and see what is listed there.

You might get an idea of what was done then.

Also if you have not already done it, have it checked out by a transmission repair shop and see what they say..

Good luck, but I think this will be a long process and might even go the small claims court route to get things resolved.
