Towing Issues: Towing from Ohio to Massachucets, gmc vandura, surge brakes

I have a 1989 GMC Vandura, 5.7 V8 and I wish to tow a 2000 Chevy S-10 that with the car carrier and vehicle and extra cargo will not exceed 4000 lbs. Will my van tow it?

Depending on the overall condition of the Van, it should.  Gearing is also important.  A 3.40 or lower (bigger number) is best.

Be sure to get a trailer with electric brakes or surge brakes and know how to use them.  I also recommend a load equalizing hitch.

Reese or Draw tite both have good setups.
