Towing Issues: towing a pop-up camper, pop up camper, inch balls

Question
During towing my pop-up, the tongue on my camper digs into the ball on my hitck. Are all two inch balls really two inch? This didnt happen to the ball on my other vehicle. Dont know why it's happening now.

Answer
It sounds as if the ball is being damaged by the latching assembly which does go bad.. You can have the assembly not fully latching (even though the locks engage) and as such will allow the hitch to move a bit more than normal


That is where I would look for problems first, you can have the hitch assembly replaced or you can try another ball.
