Toyota Repair: Sunroof 2004 Camry, track assembly, autoparts store

Question
My sunroof will not close completely. The motor is working and the sun roof will slide front to back but it will not go in the tilt up mode or completely close when I push the close button. It leaves about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch below the roof. Meaning that the sunroof is not flush with the rest of the roof.Which it always has been till now. Im trying to find out what is broken and how to trouble shoot the problem. I have tried to re-initialize the window but that doesnt work. I feel like something is broken but couldnt find broken pieces in the tracks. I did find 1 very small black piece of plastic on one side of the tracks but not sure its from the window or not.

Answer
There may be dirt or debris in the track so make sure the track is clean, try lubticating it using a clear silicon based lubricant from the autoparts store. Most common problems are the sliding assemblies break in which case the sunroof track assembly has to be removed, which means the headliner has to come out and then the cable assemblies are replaced, this is a very expensive repair
