Toyota Repair: Toyota Tacoma repair, heavy construction equipment, toyota tacoma

Question
I don't know anything except it has an automatic trans with 4WD Hi & Lo. We have gotten regular oil changes, but no major or minor repairs since the engine was rebuilt in 2000. We did have the trans fluid replaced a year or so ago. Our 1995 Toyota Tacoma runs great once it gets going but its the get going that is a problem.  It starts right up but it takes forever to get up to speed.  Once it gets up to speed the transmission sounds like it should have shifted but it didn't.  Then when you take for foot off the gas it shifts and goes faster.  My brother-in-law who is a mechanic guru and worked(s) on everything from cars to heavy construction equipment cannot figure out what the problem is.

Answer
Hello, does the check engine light stay on while driving? If yes please have the computer scanned for any trouble codes, most autoparts stores do this for free, If the light is not on the timing belt may be worn and slipped on the timing gears, another possibility is that the catalityc converter and the exhaust are clogged creating a rerstriction.
Please make a DONATION if you can, any amount is appreciated, THANK YOU.
