Toyota Repair: 2005 Toyota Avalon, 2005 toyota avalon, oil pipes

Question
I have never had any problems with my Avelon until last week.  As I was driving all the warning lights came on and the car just shut down.  I had the car towed to the dealer - I was told there was an oil leak, and the oil pipes need to be replaced.  Parts and labor would run $650.00.  No big deal, BUT they have no idea when the parts will come in from Japan.  It could possibly be a month.  I was told by the serviceman that there were three other Avalons there at the same time with the same problem.  And they have ordered the parts for one of the cars three weeks ago - and still the parts have not been shipped by Japan.  Do you know what if any alternatives I might have?  Does that seem strange that there happens to be other vehilces with the same problem.

Answer
You might want to search online if there is a re-call that you were never informed about. Since the warranty on your vehicle is gone (assumed that you don't have the extended warranty), that is the only chance you have to let them pick up the tab for the labor.
