Toyota Repair: Toyota electrical, toyota 4 runner, battery connections

Hello Ted, I have a 1995 Toyota 4-RUNNER 4wd. My question is about the electrical system. When i use my brakes or my signals when driving my car kind of "shorts out" for a second and then comes back to full power. The radio will stop for a second or two but then comes back on. Today the power to the car kind of went out but only for a second, then came back on. Otherwise the car is running good. This just started to happen in the last couple of days and seems to be getting more frequent. Thanks for your time, Mike

I would recommend having the alternator and the battery tested, the alternator should be tested under actual load conditions as well as the battery, all the battery connections should also be looked at to make sure there is no corrosion on the terminals and that they are tight.
